2020 vision, it does not matter if you are black or white

2020 Vision

Such was the new day message.  2020 vision the pastor said. 

I did look for a watch night service.  Wanted to start the New Year in church.  That is what I did all the time in NY.  Thank God for giving me the strength to do it again.

It was an all Black church, again.  It seems like many of the “Black churches” celebrate the New Year in this manner.

The echoes of the past again.  2020 and the vision is not clear, but, the church is the same.

New Years eve, the Sunday before, was spent at the Hispanic Church.  Dismay immediately upon approach to the church.  Why?  A brand new Marble sign, for the White part of the church, Raleigh Road Baptist church. 

It was lovely.  Clean granite marble.  But, the Words thereon are only Raleigh Road Baptist Church (RRBC).  No CASA De Dios wording under RRBC.  Over five years CASA has been a part of RRBC.  But, the permanent sign leaves permanent question. 

The Divorce Care Sign was removed.  And in its place was a flimsy CASA de Dios sign.  This is found at most local churches here in NC.  If they have a Spanish Ministry, the sign for that ministry, operating out of a White church, is often small. 

2020 vision proclaimed the Black pastor, in the all Black church.  The prevalence of racial segregation in 2020 continues.  Blacks here, Whites there, Hispanics temporary occupants. 

2020, can the pastors see.  2020 does that mean, you continue your services, to your people, in a separate but equal environment. 

It does matter if you are Black or White. 

I hope that your New Years will include a dedication to diversity.  Have the black person, have the white person, have the other than black or white person over in your home.  That is the hopes.  And do not forget the cripple and elderly, have them in your home or place, etc.
