Bitterness till the End

 Bitterness Until the End

I did not think I would hear it, the son knew his father was passing, on his death bed, and did not even call.

I thought it was common, you know.  A person down on his last breaths, that everyone comes together to wish that person well and not hold ill.

But, it did not happen “he was not my father”.  Then, today, same scenario.  The family members in charge of the final arrangements hold out and say they one want certain members of the family their, regardless of other whom want that final visitation.

Hatred can drive that forgiveness away.  As one said, “Forgiveness is a gift from God” and, not everyone possesses that gift.

So true it is evident.  Grady held others back from seeing Auntie, and, now, Bernice is being held back her people too.

What benefit is to hold that hate till the end?  Does it make you feel better?  We are all human with our fallacies.

I understand the hurt, he did so and so, she did so and so, that person scared me for life.  Okay.  I understand.  At some point in time, everyone transgresses another person, that is common.  It happens.

Our last visit was for her to see the grands.  We made sure she had out numbers.  Made sure as a grandmother she could call us.  Made sure all was well.  We promised to go back, but, we never did.  She was reportedly still always on the street, at the liquor house, so, we just waited for the call that never came, and, we failed to make a follow up call.  Dang.

Now Bernice Jones lays on her death bed, and the argument is, “we are not sure if you can go visit”.  Wow.  Hate and its manifest.  Is it worth it all to keep that hate.

The petition is that no matter what, if you can, do not hold hate on the death bed.  God Bless.
